HawkeyeInsider.com Intro: Chris Wormley

HI's Josh Harvey takes a look at future 2012 targets for Iowa. Today, it's Toledo product Chris Wormley.

As Iowa's class of 2011 fills up, HawkeyeInsider.com will continue to introduce you to next year's crop. Today, we take a look at 2012 Whitmer (Toledo, OH) defensive end Chris Wormley.

"Iowa is recruiting me," said Wormley. "They have been to my school to talk to me a few times. Right now, I'm taking it slow. I'm only a junior so I have a lot of time to decide where I want to visit and go."

At 6-foot-5, 250 pounds, Wormley already has offers from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan State, and Cincinnati. He is also hearing from Florida, Penn State, and Ohio State.

As a sophomore in 2009, Wormley had 12 sacks for the 9-2 Whitmer Panthers. With already four offers in hand, he is expected to be one of most targeted players in the state of Ohio for the 2012 recruiting class.

"I thought I was just an average kid playing football my freshman. This whole experience is eye opening for me," said the defensive end. "For me, I'm looking for a good football program, good academics, and a place that makes me feel home."

Opposite of Wormley on the defensive line is Ken Hayes. Hayes is a Scout.com 4-star defensive end committed to Ohio State.

"I think we should be pretty good on defense this year," said Wormley. "We have almost all our starters back."

Even though his hard work has paid off to this point with multiple offers, Wormley isn't content.

"I've been working on my hands and my game IQ. I want to get stronger, get faster, and get my agility up. This year I want to get all-state and have at least 60 tackles and six sacks," he told Scout.com

Iowa will definitely be watching the 2012 rising star this upcoming season.
