Neals gets first SEC offer

DeSmet Jesuit wide receiver Durron Neal informed HawkeyeInsider.com on Sunday night that he had picked up a new offer to go along with his Iowa one. Come inside to find out the details.

DeSmet Jesuit's (MO) 2012 wide receiver Durron Neal already had offers from the Big Ten and Big 12, but this weekend added his first SEC offer.

"I thought I would let you know that I got offered by Arkansas," stated Neal to HawkeyeInsider.com. "I feel good, because it's my first SEC offer. Arkansas is definitely a place that I have looked into. I haven't visit them yet, but since they offered me, Coach McGee is already sitting up visit for me this year."

At 6-foot-1, 187 pounds, the junior already held verbal offers from Minnesota, Missouri, Wisconsin, and Iowa. In 2009, Neal collected 953 all-purpose yards and 15 touchdowns at wide receiver and punt returner. This season, he will also take some duties as a wild-cat quarterback.

"Practices are going really well, the guys are really starting to come together as a team. A lot of guys are competing at certain positions and it's making practices a lot more fun and intense," said Neal.

Neal and the Spartans' season get underway August 28th against Hazelwood Central.
