EA Style: Iowa vs Eastern Illinois

Harvey's apartment – If the Hawkeyes have the same outcome they did last night when I simulated their first game on EA's NCAA Football 2011, Coach Ferentz should be pretty happy.

EA had the Hawks destroying Eastern Illinois 59-14 score in Iowa's opening season game. The Hawkeyes scored four times in the second quarter to put the game out of reach.

Senior quarterback Ricky Stanzi was the player of the game, going 17-31 for 298 yards and three scores. James Vandenberg even saw time, going 5-6 for 78 yards a touchdown.

Stanzi's main target was tight end Allen Reisner. The senior from Marion caught six passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns. The Hawkeyes running attack was paced by Adam Robinson. Robinson recorded 19 carries for 94 yards and two scores, but Jewel Hampton did see quite a few carries himself.

Iowa only had a 14-7 first quarter league, but safety Tyler Sash's interception touchdown run gave the Hawks some major momentum. Tyler Nielsen led the team with five tackles, as many of the starters didn't see time in the 2nd half.

Daniel Murray knocked in a 40 yarder late in the 3rd quarter, but missed a short 29 yard field goal as time expired in the 1st half.
