However when Coach Brewster was relieved of duties as the Head Coach at Minnesota one team continued to recruit the talent Lonestar linebacker and this morning that effort payed off as Moore committed to Kansas State.
"Yes sir I committed to them (K-State) this morning. Kansas State plays big time football and coming to the Big 12 and having a chance to show people what I can do and at a school that loves football like they do at Kansas State, that was the right fit for me."
Recruited by WR Coach Michael Smith, Kansas State never stopped in its' pursuit of the Moore, letting him know how much he was wanted in Manhattan and as a part of future Wildcat teams.
"Kansas State never stopped recruiting me. They kept recruiting me after I made my decision to commit to Minnesota and they just kept letting me know they wanted me. They never stopped recruiting me and that right there meant everything to me. That let me know they wanted me and then when I took my visit it was great there. They stuck with me the whole way, they just kept recruiting me and never stopped," stated Moore.
Happy to make a decision, Moore says that he is Kansas State all the way and cannot wait to get to Manhattan to show what he can do on a football field.
"Yes sir, I am done - it is all K-State!" said a elated Moore. Asked what helped him make his decision, Moore said flatly the Coaching Staff.
"The Coaching Staff! That is why I committed there. Coach Snyder is about more than football and the whole staff, they stuck with me the whole way and that is something I want to be a part of there. They were straight with me and have some of the best coaches, so that really is why."
Asked who he contacted this morning to let know that he had come to a decision, Moore said he spoke to an ecstatic Coach Smith.
"I told him this morning and he was ecstatic when I was on the phone with him. You could hear how excited he was and I let him know this morning I was coming."
In terms of where Moore projects at the next level, the Wildcat Coaches have let him know that they see him playing Outside linebacker.
"I rush the passer the best. They told me that they want me as outside linebacker and that is where I think I need to play. I have a motor that never stops and they are going to use me to get to the quarterback. I can come off the edge and use my speed to get to the quarterback and put pressure on him," said Moore.
Asked if there were any last minute pushes, Moore laughed and said:" No I am done. It is all Kansas State and I am just excited to get down there and play big-time football."
With Signing Day just days off, mike Moore wanted to deliver a message to the Wildcat Nation,
"Tell the fans Thank You for staying with me and for supporting me. I am done and will be down there soon and hopefully I can show them what I can do."
