Ready For Action

MANHATTAN, Kan. - One of the many new faces in the crowd that Wildcat fans can expect to see this year is Quarterback transfer Justin Tuggle from Blinn Junior College. Kansas State is a program that has reached deep into the heart of Texas before and come away with talented players who excelled on the football field for the 'Cats.

Justin Tuggle is hoping to be the next in line from Blinn to come to Kansas State and make a name for himself by working hard and carving out a starting spot in the roster.

"When I talked to the coaching staff about coming in to play, they told me come ready to compete. I am trying to come into K-State and lead by hard work and example. I want my teammates to know that I am going to work really hard to put myself in that position to play. All I ever wanted was a chance to play and the coaches have all told me just be ready to compete,' said Tuggle.

Although limited in reps during the Spring game, Justin says that he has been studying the playbook and getting more familiar with the plays on offense.

"I have really just been learning the playbook and the plays and getting to know them better so that I can show what I can do. I know that once I get the plays down and become more familiar with everything that we are doing and how each play is, that is a big part of me learning and preparing myself."

With the departure of Senior Carson Coffman to graduation this past year and Collin Klein entrenched as the starter at quarterback coming out of Spring practices, Justin says that he is only looking for the chance to show what he can do and compete.

"When I came here (KSU) I was told that there was a need at quarterback and that I would be given every chance to come in and play. Coach Snyder and playing for him and his knowledge of the game was a big part of why I came to K-State and why I wanted to be a part of this team. I want to work hard in the weight room and earn the respect of my teammates. We have a lot of good players on this team and guys that can do a lot of things and I just want to come here and play. I know the only way I can make it out there is to work hard and lead and let my teammates know they can count on me and that I am going to play my hardest. I came here for the opportunity."

Originally committing to Boston College out of Northview High School in Duluth, Georgia on the outskirts of Atlanta - Justin Tuggle is the son of former NFL Falcon Jesse Tuggle and has been around the game of football most of his life.

When a coaching change at Boston College upended his future plans, Tuggle transferred to Blinn looking for an opportunity. And now there is an opportunity at Kansas State for the quarterback position and whether or not he wins the starting job or not - that was all Justin Tuggle was looking for anyway.
