Magee is considering LSU, Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Memphis and, late to the party, Kentucky.
After losing out on Prime Prep point guard Emmanuel Mudiay this week to SMU, UK has had to regroup. Magee is apparently part of the fall-back plan.
The other four schools, including LSU, have all offered scholarships to Magee. He doesn't quite have an offer from Kentucky, but it could be coming.
The UK staff is expected to visit Magee in the coming weeks to discuss Kentucky and his potential role there, according to Magee's AAU coach Titus Randle of the Louisiana Future.
"They want to meet with him and let him know what would be expected of him at Kentucky," Randle said. "Then they will offer him."
Randle said that Magee is vastly underrated and that he is not surprised Kentucky is interested.
"He had a good summer," Randle said. "Louisiana players just don't get the rankings or the notoriety that players in other states get. People keep asking me, 'is he good enough for Kentucky?' Yes, he is good enough. He can play at that level."
He is scheduled to visit Memphis next week. Visits to LSU, Oklahoma State, Kentucky and Kansas State have not yet been scheduled.
