Chase Patton

Education Is Important

As Kansas State's search for quarterbacks intensifies, signal caller Chase Patton continues to list the Wildcats high atop his list of final five. As a four star National Blue Chip- Chase is heavily courted. Patton said Wednesday his only schools of interest are K-State, Missouri, Iowa, UCLA, and Tennessee, though not explicitly naming a frontrunner.

A Scholar and a gentlemen. Patton, who's averaging 229 yards game and has 19 touchdowns and one interception this season, is not only attempting to find the best fit on the football field, but also in the classroom. Education is a must for the 6-4 200 pound Missouri native who plans to major in engineering or business.

"That really is an important part of it for me," said Patton, who scored a 27 on his ACT and carries a 3.80 GPA. "I want to find out all I can about the football programs, but I also want to spend some time looking at their academics."

Official visits have been scheduled to all five of his favorites. Patton's visit to Manhattan is set for December 19.

Notes: Patton will visit Tennessee November 21. His visit for Iowa is slated for December 5 and Missouri on December 12. Patton will conclude his visits at UCLA on January 6. Two of Patton's uncles attended K-State. KSU interior defensive line coach and assistant recruiting coordinator Mo Latimore is overseeing Patton's recruitment.
