Mbakogu Will Visit Two More

The No. 6 defensive end still likes KSU, but will take all five visits before making a decision at the end of the month.

Two more visits remain for the four-star Kansas State prospect Phillip Mbakogu. The No. 6 defensive end nationally has already visited Notre Dame, California, and K-State. He'll visit Oregon this weekend and then BCS National Champion LSU next week.

"I'm almost ready to make my decision," he said. "I just want to finish all my visits before I make up my mind. I want to see everyone out there and make the right choice."

Mbakogu said K-State is still very much in the mix for his skills. Tight ends coach Matt Miller is recruiting the 6-foot-3 250 pound California native.

"They're still there for sure," he said. "I like their defense. They're aggressive and always produce great talent. It's a real steady program and I don't see that changing anytime soon."

Mbakogu, who had 17 sacks this season, said he wants to play right away, but is willing to redshirt.

"Of course I want to play as soon as I can," he said. "But if redshirting is best, I'll do that too, but I plan to compete and put myself in position to play as a freshman. I just want to do the best for the team, wherever I go."
