Part II - Recruiting DeSoto High

In the second part of this series we take a closer look at safety Corey Hall. K-State is an early favorite to win a visit in the fall.

DeSoto free safety Corey Hall has his favorites, but no offers as of yet. As far as visits go, both Kansas State and Notre Dame are early favorites to get ones from one of Texas' top defensive backs.

In addition to the Wildcats and the Fighting Irish, Hall said he likes Maryland, Iowa State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Texas.

At 5-foot-11 190 pounds, Hall said his main goal right now is to get ready for his senior season.

"I want to be better overall," he said. "My coach told me that I need to get my hips stronger. I missed some tackles last season, mainly because I would go in for the tackle out of control."

For this safety, the "last man standing" has Hall put it, when it comes to his play on the field, his speed is another area of concern going into next year and the recruiting process.

"My acceleration off the line needs to get better too," said Hall, who runs a 4.50 40 yards right now. "I want to be at a 4.4 eventually. I would be, with my break-away speed, but it's the first step that's getting me behind, my acceleration off the line."

Hall said as recruiting continues to pick-up expect all the schools on list to be defensive powers.

"I want to go where they are aggressive on defense and where they send players to the next level," he said. "I'm an aggressive player on the field and I want to go somewhere I can be coached on how to handle it and make it work in my advantage."

Hall has a 4.60 GPA on a 6.00 scale with advanced placement courses and has already taken the SAT, with the ACT coming this weekend.
