Early Commit in the making?

DT- Trey Bryant

The Wildcats have gone West again into the state of Texas and are showing Berkner High School DT- Trey Bryant some love. Coach Bob Elliot is recruiting Bryant for the Wildcats and has the Cats high on this young man's list. This prospect is sure to get a lot more attention and currently has 20 plus schools sending him letters and trying to catch his eye.

Here are Trey's current stats: 6 foot 2, 302 pounds

Shuttle: 4.55

Bench: 330

Squat: 550

40 Time: 4.90

In talking to Trey it is readily apparent he is a very polite and well mannered young man—Off the field!

"I like to deliver the blow, especially Offensive Linemen. I like to line-up in my three point stance and fire out and just take it to them every single snap and put it on them, sir."

And if they try and run the ball away from you?.." Yes sir, a lot of teams will try to run away from me, but I like to use my speed sideline to sideline and hunt them down. I love to catch them from behind- they are not going to get away from me. When I catch them I punish them."

As for Trey's top five right now…in the order he listed.

"BYU, Kansas State, ATM, Arkansas and maybe Baylor or Kansas sir."

I asked Trey what he likes about some of the schools he lists:

BYU- "I have some friends who have told me about BYU and that is a school that is recruiting pretty hard and I want to take a look at. They send me a lot of mail and I have a friend that they are recruiting pretty hard right now."

Kansas State:" Kansas State's defense stands out. I like the way they play defense and I have heard a lot about them. They are aggressive and I like that. Coach Elliot is recruiting me for them and I like their coaches. Also they play the 4-3 defense and I want to play in a 4-3. I want to go up there and check them out."

Texas ATM:" I like their coaches and have talked to them a bunch. It is in-state so that is good. They send me a lot of mail and I am thinking about going to one of their camps."

Baylor:" They are recruiting me the hardest. They send me a lot of mail and like ATM I probably want to go to one of their camps."

In terms of recruiting…Bryant wants to commit before his season starts. We asked him his preference on staying in-state or going out of state…." Yes, sir, I am open. I would like to stay in-state so my family could see me play but it really does not matter. I just want to find the right place for me. I am open right now and looking to find the best place."

At 302 pounds and able to run a sub 5 second 40 yard dash- Bryant has the physical attributes that coaches covet.

We will keep close tabs on this recruit as Trey wants to commit before his season begins and will be bringing you his updates as the recruiting season unfolds. This young man is already fully qualified and one of our favorites already.
