Sproles Wins ESPN Game Changing Performance Award

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Darren Sproles' electrifying 74-yard run that sparked Kansas State to victory over Missouri was selected as ESPN's Pontiac Game Changing Performance of the week in an overwhelming vote of fans from across the nation, the all-sports network announced Thursday night.

As a result, Pontiac will be making a $5,000 donation to Kansas State's general scholarship fund. Additionally, by being selected as this week's Pontiac Game Changing Performance, Sproles' run now becomes eligible to vie for selection as the Pontiac Game Changing Performance of the Year, when ESPN selects six of the 13 weekly winners for the final competition.

The school selected as the Pontiac Game Changing Performance of the Year will receive an additional $100,000 contribution to their general scholarship fund from Pontiac. Like the weekly award, fans will make the choice by voicing their opinions on the espn.com/pontiac website.

"On behalf of the entire university, I want to thank the fans who voted for Kansas State and Pontiac for such a generous gift and prestigious award," said K-State Director of Athletics Tim Weiser. "It is clearly a reflection of the incredibly supportive fans with which we are blessed and a tribute to the spectacular athletic ability of Darren Sproles."

Sproles and the Wildcats travel to Colorado Saturday to take on the Buffaloes at 12:30 p.m. (MST)/1:30 p.m. (CST).
