Casey Named to Academic All-District Team
The selection is the first to the academic all-district team for Casey, who was a first team Academic All-Big 12 honoree in 2003 and possesses a 3.47 G.P.A. in accounting.
Casey, K-State's starting tight end for the past two years and a 2004 John Mackey Award (nation's top tight end) candidate, is one of the Wildcats' leading receivers this season with 21 receptions for 270 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
The Gladstone, Mo., product has also been a key leader for the Wildcats and was selected as a player representative by his teammates during the spring.
As a junior, Casey saw action in all 15 games and was an honorable mention All-Big 12 performer by both the coaches and The Associated Press after collecting 19 receptions for 349 yards.
Casey and the Wildcats host Iowa State at KSU Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 20 at 11:10 a.m. The game, which will be telecast by Fox Sports Net, will also be senior day as 23 Wildcats, including Casey, take to the field at KSU Stadium for the final time.
