Houston WR/RB Visiting Kansas State

This weekend is a big weekend for the Wildcats as they host upwards of 10+ recruits. None more a carbon copy of Darren Sproles then three star rated RB- Worthing High Schools star player Deon Wallace from Houston, Texas.

Wallace who said he currently is around 5-foot-8 and 175-180 pounds, has taken a couple visits already and lists Kansas State as the leader for his signature.

"There are a couple of schools I am looking at right now, but Kansas State is still my favorite. I am coming down there this weekend and there are some other schools that I might want to visit after Kansas State, you know it all just depends on the visit. K-State thought, they are my favorite" said Wallace.
As far as playing style and how Deon might fit into the Wildcat offense.

"You know if I have a good shot on you I am going to take it. I like to juke ya and then see if you can catch me. Most don't (catch him). But if I have a good shot on you I am going to put it to you and if I can't run over you I will juke you."

In terms of recruiting, the coaching staff has been in on Wallace very early and has continued to recruit Deon- putting his visit to Manhattan in the books a long time ago.

"Kansas State has been recruiting me for a long time. They were one of the first teams to start recruiting me. I have had this visit set up for a while now and K-State has been with me for a long time."

Although coming to Manhattan this weekend, Wallace admits he would like to take all of his visits before making a decision. The Wildcats have already offered a scholarship.

"I really want to take all five of my visits and check everyone out……I would like to see everything first and then make a choice."

Wallace has already taken the SAT and is qualified and says he is working on his speed right now running consistently in the 4.4 range.

As far as distance and going out of state, Wallace says it is not a factor.
"Distance is really not a big deal for me. I will go wherever, like I said I just want to take all my visits and check everyone out and then I will probably choose."

Coach Mo Latimore is recruiting Wallace for the Cats and currently Deon holds more numerous offers.

"I have offers from K-State, Utah, Texas Tech, A&M, Colorado and the University of Louisiana-Lafayette," said Wallace.

The Texas Hot 100 No. 72 said he is excited to visit Manhattan this weekend.

"Oh yea I am looking forward to getting down there and meeting the players and coaches."

We will have updates on Deon following his visit to Manhattan.
