Trip to Manhattan in the Works?

The Cats who have yet to garner a commitment at the Quarterback position- are looking to California and one of the West Coast's finest to fill that void. With a young and talented wide receiving class already committed- the Cats look to the Quarterback position and California.

The Wildcats have yet to take a Quarterback in this year's class- but not for lack of effort. The Cats coaching staff has again set its' sights on a California signal caller, Pomona ‘s Osaar Rasshan and are looking to garner an official visit from the three star rated Quarterback in the very near future. A three star rated recruit from Garey Senior High School in Pomona California, Osaar verbally committed to UCLA but is now looking at taking some selected visits. Manhattan is "definitely" on his radar and a trip to Kansas State is in the process of being set up.

"Yea you know I definitely would like to go out there and see what the atmosphere is like out there. Just want to take a trip there and the Kansas State coaches are talking to me and we are trying to set that up" said Osaar.

A very mobile quarterback with legit 4.5 speed and a great arm- Osaar was 93-200 for 1716 yards, 21 touchdowns and 10 interceptions- it is the Wildcat offense that has this West Coast product looking at the Cats.

"Right now I am committed to UCLA and they are my number one choice. They have been with me since the beginning but I would like to set up a trip to Kansas State and check out the best of what they've got. I do not know that much about K-State but the coaches tell me I fit their offense. They are known for having mobile Quarterback's and that fits my style. I do know that they like Qb's that can run and throw and that they like to run the option. I like getting out on the edges and making decisions and also throwing to beat you. I know they throw the ball some and they tell me that I fit what they like to do on offense," said Rasshan.

In terms of actually setting up an official to Manhattan, Rashman says nothing has been set yet but he is looking to visit in mid to late January.

"I really need to look at my schedule because I play basketball too. Right now it is looking like mid to late January. I would like to set it up for January the 14th and I have to sit down with my parents and get a date that does not conflict with basketball. I do not want anything to conflict there but my main priority is taking the trip. "

Given that the Cats have not taken a Quarterback in this class is a big plus for Rasshan.

"The Coaches told me that they went with the older guys this past year and their record was 4 and 7. They like athletic quarterbacks and they told me they are going to play the best player. They are going to play the best player and if that were me and I was there- I think they would give me a fair shot. I would try to relax and get into their system and get into the flow and speed of college football and compete. And they have talked to me about their depth chart. They (the Coaches) have told me that I would be the only quarterback that they would take should I go there."

Although Rasshan admits he does not know a lot about the Cats, he says K-State is known for winning in a big conference.

"Well, I really do not know that much about Kansas State right now. I do not get to see a lot of their games out here. I do know that they win a lot of games and they play in the Big 12 and that is a top conference and says a lot .Basically, they are a good team that wins a lot of games in a tough conference."

One factor that may work both for and against the Cats is distance.

"You know, the distance is both a plus and a negative. I mean I am used to my surroundings and it both helps and hurts that K-State is so far away. It is a place I think that would be different so that is a plus."

As far as other trips, Osaar says that three is the magic number.

"No more then three. Actually not too many trips. I do not have a whole lot of trips that I want to take. I would like to just check some things out and then make my decision."

Although no date has yet been set for an official visit, at this time it looks very good for the Cats to land an official from this West Coast Quarterback. We will be checking with Osaar to verify a date for his official to Manhattan as well as bring you all the latest following his trip to Kansas State. Stay tuned as this could be the quarterback the Cats have coveted to compliment the young and talented WR Corp it will sign.
