KU Commit Visiting Manhattan This Weekend

Although he committed to Kansas in late December, this recruit from the state of Texas says he has plans to visit Manhattan and look at what the Cats have to offer. Sternly warned by the Kansas coaches not to take a visit to Manhattan, this wide receiver prospect will take an official visit this weekend.

Emerging wide receiver Val Taylor made a verbal commitment while on his official visit to the University of Kansas back in December, but now could be changing that to interstate rival Kansas State.

"The Kansas coaches told me if I visit Kansas State that I probably won't have a scholarship," said Taylor. "So, right now I'm thinking I'll probably be going to Kansas State as I'm going to take the visit."

Taylor showed exceptional speed at last spring's MSL Combine, and that is what has attracted the attention of the Kansas State staff.

"They told me they want my speed to help them stretch the field," added Taylor, who previously had made a commitment to UTEP before switching to Kansas. "They have a winning tradition there and that is what I want to be a part of. Their coaches want to win badly, and are determined to do next fall."
