Quarterback Enjoys his Official Visit

Kansas State hosted a bevy of future recruits who have already given verbal commitments to Kansas State as well as some the Cats look to garner pledges from before signing day. Only one quarterback prospect made the trip to Manhattan this past weekend.

The Wildcats have yet to take a pure quarterback in this year's recruiting class. Clearly an important position for the class, K-State hosted one of the West Coast's finest quarterback prospects, Kevin Lopina this past weekend.

Lopina, a three star rated quarterback prospect from De La Salle high school in Concord, CA is currently committed to Oregon State but took an official visit to Manhattan this weekend with his father in order to look at what the Cats have to offer. KStateFans was able to catch up with Kevin for a brief update.

"Yea I am just now getting back (from the trip). Everything went pretty good, we had a good time. It was a good trip. " said Lopina directly following his trip.

Currently committed to Oregon State, it was the relationship between Coach Snyder and Kevin's quarterback coach Roger Theder that originally brought Lopina to look at Kansas State.

"Coach Theder suggested Kevin take a visit to Manhattan and look at the program and see if he would like it. He never recommended Kevin take any other trips and I know he thinks highly of Coach Snyder. That he recommended Kevin make the trip and look at K-State meant a lot to us" said Kevin's mother.
