One of the top remaining targets on the Wildcat board at the QB position that has not given the Cats a verbal commitment, Kevin Lopina from tradition rich Concord De La Salle HS in Concord, CA could be closing on in making a decision. Originally a Oregon State commit, Kevin opened up recruiting a little bit and took an official visit to Manhattan on January 14th.
In speaking with a member of the Lopina family, it looks to be a two team race between Kansas State and Oregon State for the talented three star signal callers services. Having taken his official visit to K-State, Lopina will be meeting with the Oregon State coaches over the next couple of days and then will sit down with his family to make his decision.
With good size and speed, Lopina looks to be a natural fit for the style of play of Coach Snyder and the K-State offense.
At this point in time, Kevin is seriously giving both schools consideration and weighing the benefits of both schools before making a decision which could happen sometime this week. One thing that clearly stands out in regards to his recruitment is whichever school Kevin ultimately decides upon, he wants to make sure that he handles the situation the right way.
As reported earlier, the Cats look to be squarely in this race. Kevin is currently weighing his options and might make a decision as early as this week.
