Guess who is coming to Lunch?

The final battle for this recruit as well as the final word is set to take place where most recruiting battles are won or lost- the living room. Kansas State will be sending in coaches this afternoon in an effort to sway this blue chipper's mind and make a final effort to land the talented blue chip prospect.

No it is not Zac Robinson. For those following the recruitment of Zac here at WildcatNation, Zac will not be taking any more visitors.

In a battle for the services of one of the top JUCO Defensive Tackle prospects in the country that has seen Kansas State as the heavy favorite and then fall behind Kansas, the coaching staff has not given up hope or effort on Rodney Allen. And their work will be cut out for them.

"Coach Snyder, Coach E (Elliot) Coach Joe Bob (Clements) and I think one more. They are all showing up tomorrow. But I do not think they can sway me or change my mind. I am going to Kansas," Allen told KStateFans.

An early leader to sign the DT, the 6-foot-3 and 270 pound prospect informed the K-State coaching staff he would be committing to Kansas after taking a visit to Lawrence last weekend.

"They were not to happy about that and said they would keep recruiting me. But I my mind is set on Kansas man. Trust me, my whole mind is on 2005 and how many sacks I will be getting for them."

The Kansas coaching staff has not been sitting on the sidelines.

"Kansas sent a coach to show me how to fill out the paperwork for signing day. I mean Kansas has been keeping in touch with me too and that is the place I have told my family and friends I am going but you know with Kansas State coming in, I just don't think they can sway me," said Allen.

As far as officially committing, Allen mentioned that he has told both coaching staffs and is now is just waiting for signing day- save on visit today.

"I am just ready to get this over. With Kansas State coming in today I am going to listen to what they have to say and all."

That Coach Snyder will be visiting is a key factor at play here if Kansas State is to have any chance at getting back into the race- a point not lost on Allen.

"You know, in all of it, it is swell and everything and that they are sending Coach Snyder, well that means something. I pretty much have made up my mind but man you know, I will listen to what they have to say."

Rodney and I spoke about some of the talented juniors on Garden City already and Allen had this to say about recruiting them in the future.

"(Laughing) I can tell you whatever team I go to, I have already talked to some of those guys. I have a couple of my teammates already changing their minds. You know I am going to have to talk to them and see what we can do there."

Currently committed to Kansas, the coaching staff will pay Rodney Allen in-home visits today around 12 in the afternoon. We will have more on this story as it progresses to include another interview with Rodney after the Kansas State coaches leave this afternoon.
