WR Val Taylor – Solid as a Rock to KSU

Opting to switch is commitment to Kansas State after committing originally to UTEP and then Kansas- WR Val Taylor says he is done with recruiting and will sign with K-State on Wednesday.

Dallas (Texas) South Oak Cliff wide receiver prospect and Kansas State pledge- Val Taylor has committed twice and changed his mind twice. No more says the speed merchant from the Lonestar State.

"Nah, it's all over. I am going to Kansas State and just looking to getting down there," Taylor told KStateFans.

Having committed to UTEP early in his the process (Sept. 17th) after taking a visit there, Val reversed his decision and committed to Kansas in mid-December after a visit to Lawrence on the 17th. Having committed to the Jayhawks, Taylor says he had always had the Cats in the back of his mind.

"I always was thinking about them (Kansas State) a little bit. I mean they were some place that I wanted to check out and take a look for myself," said the 6-foot-1, 180-pound WR.

The two star rated WR from Dallas decided to take a trip to Manhattan and made an official visit to Kansas State the weekend of January 14th.

"Yea, my visit there was great. I meet with the players and they are all real cool. This is it. I am not going to change my mind, that is where I want to go and my visit there just went good. I got to check everything out there and it was just a good trip," said Taylor leading up to signing day.

Taylor who has legitimate 4.5 speed in the forty and the size at 6-foot-1 to play against the Big 12's physical style of play on defense, says he looks forward to getting down to Manhattan and joining the team.

"I am really looking forward to getting down there. I am just excited to come in, work hard there and see about some playing time," said Taylor.

When rumors surfaced that Taylor was to visit Kansas State, the Kansas coaching staff sternly warned him not to make the trip to Manhattan.

"Well they really just did not want me to make the trip. Man, it was not too big of a deal you know…. They told me that I may not have a offer left you know."

Taylor who was recruited by Defensive Coordinator Bob Elliott says he is happy that he made the trip to the Little Apple after all.

"I am happy that I took the trip and you know that I am going to Kansas State. They really wanted me and they let me know that. That was really it and I think I will fit in with what they are trying to do on offense."

Asked if his commitment was solid or if there were any possible surprises in the making, Taylor answered quickly.

"Nah, I am going to K-State and am just looking forward to getting down there and contributing."
