First Offer is Leader

At 6-foot-5 and 275 pounds, this Colorado prospect plays on both sides of the ball as a O-line and DT. Some schools are recruiting him to play offense while others are recruiting to play on the other side of the ball. With his first offer in hand, this prospect from Colorado says he does have an early favorite.

"I went to CU's camp and Coach (Dave) Borbely thought I did pretty well so he offered me verbally," said Boyer. "Then I got the written offer in the mail. I'd say Colorado is my top school now."

His parents do not claim a favorite.

The offensive lineman is also looking at Colorado State, Oklahoma, Michigan State, and Kansas State. "CU and Kansas State are probably sending me the most mail.

"Kansas State has a good program from what I hear and I love football. I would love to play for a good football team. I need to research the academic side of things with them a little more and that is something I will be calling their coaches to get more info on."

Receivers coach Greg Peterson is after Boyer for the Wildcats' staff.

He only has one more summer camp planned. "I am going to Colorado State's camp on the 24th."

Can a decision be expected any time soon? "I will probably wait until during my school year to decide. I want to see what other options come to me."

Boyer holds a 2.8 core GPA and scored an 18 on the ACT. He would like to major in Engineering or Culinary Arts.
