Breaking News - Last Minute Moves

Breaking News......In an effort to provide the most up to date information, KStateFans has learned of significant changes in the starting line-up. With only a day to go before the start of the season, Coach Snyder has made his mind up on some positions and will make a change at a couple of positions.

Kansas State's football staff continues to mix and match players with positions heading into Saturday's 1:10 p.m. 2005 season opener against Florida International.

Significant juggling is still being done in the defensive secondary where KStateFans has learned that projected starting cornerback Maurice Porter has been moved to a backup strong safety behind Kyle Williams.

Surrell Davis, who had been a reserve strong safety, is now getting time at backup cornerback behind starter Bryan Baldwin.

Expected to start at the opposite corner is Byron Garvin, backed by junior college newcomer Justin McKinney.

Marcus Watts is projected to get the start at free safety, backed by Jesse Tetuan.

Likely to start at the trio of linebacker positions will be Brandon Archer, Ted Sims and Maurice Mack.

The projected offensive line starting-five will be Gerard Spexarth at left tackle, Matt Boss at left guard, John Hafferty at center, Greg Wafford at right guard and Jeromey Clary at right tackle.

Rashaad Norwood, listed as a third-teamer entering the fall, is now listed as a first-teamer, backed by Brett Alstatt.

It's doubtful that Dylan Meier will see action on Saturday as redshirt-freshman Alan Evridge is listed as the No. 2 quarterback behind Allen Webb.

While Yamon Figurs is a fixture at one wide receiver spot, Jordy Nelson is reportedly battling Jermaine Moreira for a starting job.
