As a junior, Leon Patton rushed 70 times for 738 yards and eight touchdowns. He also caught five passes for 102 yards and one touchdown. Patton was named second team all-district. He is picking up this year where he left off last season. Through two games, he has 398 yards and three touchdowns on 42 carries. Receiving, he has seven catches for 107 yards and a touchdown.
"I have the ability to make people miss," he says. "I have very good awareness."
The running back committeed to Kansas State back in April over interest from Missouri and Arkansas. "I really just like the KSU program. I took an unofficial visit there over the summer and liked what I saw."
He was recruited to the Wildcats by defensive coordinator/secondary coach Bob Elliot.
Patton lists his goals for his time in Manhattan. "I just want to get a good education and play some football. I plan on majoring in Architectural Engineering."
The Dallas product says he'll most likely visit KSU officially after the season.
He carries a 3.0 core GPA and scored an 880 on the old version of the SAT.
