MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Kansas State Department of Athletics received word Monday from Fox Sports Net and the Big 12 Conference that the network has selected to telecast K-State's league opener on Oct. 1 at Oklahoma to a national cable audience.

The game will kick off at 6 p.m. and will be the Wildcats' second national television appearance of the young season. K-State's victory at Marshall on Sept. 10 was televised nationally on ESPN2.

Fox Sports Net's telecast of the game will mark the sixth straight meeting between Kansas State and Oklahoma to appear on television. The previous five, including Big 12 Championship game match-ups in 2000 and 2003, all aired on ABC.

The Oklahoma game will mark Kansas State's 30th appearance on Fox Sports Net since the formation of the Big 12 in 1996 and the Wildcats' 16th national broadcasts on the network. K-State made four appearances on FSN during the 2004 season, including home games vs. Fresno State, Texas Tech and Iowa State and a road contest at Missouri.

Other television selections for Oct. 1 include a split-national telecast of the Texas at Missouri game on ABC at 11 a.m. (CT), a regional telecast of the Baylor at Texas A&M at 11:30 a.m. (CT) on Fox Sports Net and a regional broadcast of the Iowa State at Nebraska game on ABC at 2:30 p.m. (CT).
