McCarty extends offer to OL

Head Coach Ron Prince has yet to fully hire his coaching staff but that has not kept K-State from burning up the recruiting trails. New KSU Coach Tim McCarty was in Texas on Wednesday to schedule a visit and extend a KSU Scholarship.....

Coaching changes have been rampant in the Big 12 North here in the past few weeks. Plano West offensive lineman Wes Simon gave Gary Barnett and staff a verbal commitment at Colorado, but after Barnett's firing, Simon awaits the coaches he will play for. In that time, he has scheduled an official visit to Lawrence, Kansas this weekend, and actually received an offer from another Big 12 North program this afternoon. Scout.com's Josh Clark offers the latest on Simon's recruitment.

Just today, Simon received another Big 12 North offer and Kansas State's Ron Prince is wasting no time burning up the recruiting trail.

"Kansas State verbally offered me a scholarship, today. Their offensive line coach (Tim McCarty) stopped by the school, and said the offer would be in the mail as soon as he returned. Coach (Ron) Prince is going to be calling me, as well, as making an in-home visit. Coach McCarty told me Coach Prince coached the offensive line at Virginia, including the guy projected to go first in the draft," said Simon.

Simon holds a 3.1 GPA and scored a 20 and 920 on the ACT and SAT, respectively.
