Junior College D-End Ervin Baldwin

Defensive end will be a need that Kansas State will try fill at the junior college level. Scout.com & Purple Pride Recruiting Analyst Chris Pool caught up with Reedley coach Mike White to get the inside scoop on one of his top sophomore prospects, Ervin Baldwin.

Ervin Baldwin, a 6-foot-3, 260-pound, defensive end, from Reedley (Calif.) Community College, visited Michigan State (12-9) in December and he's planning on visiting Kansas State (1-13), Marshall (1-20) and Texas Tech in January.

We caught up with Reedley coach, Mike White, and asked him if he could talk about Ervin Baldwin and what he brings to the table as a defensive end.

"Ervin is very quick and strong," Coach White said. "He's a super edge rusher who gets after it. A high motor type guy who'll be very good the next few years, he could play inside or outside.

"Ervin comes for Macon (Ga.) County. We're one of the few junior colleges that have dorms so that makes things easier for us when we recruit.

"As far as recruiting in concerned, Ervin hasn't told me there's a clear-cut leader. He liked Michigan State and he has his visits to Kansas State and Marshall set up. When Ervin comes back from holiday break, we'll talk more about his future."

Coach White told Scout.com that Ervin Baldwin will have three years to play two at the college of his choice.
