York's Next Move

Victor York, a 6-foot-4, 265-pound, defensive tackle, from Montbello High in Denver, Colo., visited Kansas State last weekend. York had a great visit to Manhattan and he's considering giving the Wildcats his verbal commitment. There's only one thing stopping him.

"I was thinking about committing on Monday," Victor York said.

"The Kansas State coaches told me to hold off because I need to be fully qualified before I can commit. I have a semester to get my grades up but right now it looks like I'll have to go the junior college route.

"I really enjoyed Kansas State a lot. The new coaching staff is top notch. Coach Horton is recruiting me and he's been great to me. On my visit, I really hit it off with the players. They showed us all around campus.

"I'm not giving up hope yet. I still have a semester to go. I want to go to Kansas State but I have some work to do. We'll see what happens."

York was a two-year varsity starter for Montbello. As a junior, Victor started on the offensive line but was moved to defensive tackle during the third game of the season. He has been a fixture at defensive tackle ever since.

York had 75 tackles and two sacks in 2005. Nebraska called York today and have been in regular contact.
