Georgia Prospect Talks Recruiting

College Park (Ga.) North Clayton defensive end Donnell Sanders made his official visit this past weekend with fellow teammate Winston Bowen to Manhattan to meet Coach Prince.

"It went good. I mean I got a chance to talk to the coaches and all. They were telling me that they want me there and they need me to play D-end for them and all. Courtney Herndon was my host and all down there. He told me about the defense a little," Sanders told KStateFans.

Prior to making his visit to K-State, Sanders told KStateFans that Arkansas was the team to beat for his services leading up to his official visit. That may have changed however with Sanders visit to Manhattan this weekend.

"Kansas State was a good visit and all you know. They are up there at the top right now but I need to see some other schools. I am going to Arkansas and Kent State for visits. This visit was real good though. It opened my eyes up on what they want to do. I would say they are up there you know but this was my first visit. I have not been anywhere else."

At 6-foot-2 and just under 210 pounds, Sanders says the coaching staff has told him that he has the chance to play rush end for the Cats and that the opportunity to play is a possibility.

"They told me that they want me to come down and play for them at right D end. That is my position and all and they said that they want me to be a part of the defense. Right now I guess they are on top but you know I still want to look around and take all my visits. I got to take a look at other things and see how they compare. They blew me away but this is my first visit and I can't really tell you know right now. They blew my away and all but I can't really tell you know."

"Coach Prince though is a really good guy. You know he wants to know how his players how your relationship is with your coach and all."

Coach Pat Washington is in charge of recruiting Donnell for the Cats and will make an in-home visit with Donnell on Monday evening to speak with Donnell and his parents about his future in Manhattan. Following his in-home visit, Arkansas will pay a call to the Sanders home the following Monday of next week.
