Otis Johnson Commits

Wanting to tell his parents about his trip, Otis Johnson told KSF.c this afternoon that he only needed to talk with his parents before announcing a decision.

Aldine (Texas) cornerback Otis Johnson, from Eisenhower High School on the outskirts of Houston said he wanted to discuss his visit with his parents prior to making his decision. After discussing his visit, Otis called Coach Prince to let him know he wanted to be a Wildcat.

"I was thinking about it on my visit but I just wanted to talk with my folks first before I decided to go to Kansas State. I was leaning there but I wanted to tell them about everything and the trip," said Johnson.

Having visited Central Florida last weekend, Johnson said that in making his decision to commit to K-State, he will not be taking a scheduled visit to Washington State next weekend.

Asked this afternoon if he could confirm the rumors stating that he was planning to commit prior to leaving Manhattan, Otis chuckled before saying he needed to get back to Houston to discuss things.

At 5-foot-10 and 185 pounds, Johnson will start his career at cornerback for the Cats. Saying that his visit this weekend went very well, Johnson thought about committing on his visit to Manhattan.

Earlier this afternoon, Otis told KStateFans that he just needed the chance to speak to his parents before becoming a Wildcat.

"I just need to talk to them first and tell them about everything but yea, I was thinking about doing it on the trip. The coaches were all just so excited and the trip down there was great," said Johnson.
