Follow the Leader

Anthony Davis, a 6-foot-4, 324-pound, mammoth defensive tackle, from Lynchburg, Va., was a big fan of Ron Prince when Coach Prince was an assistant at Virginia. When Prince was hired at Kansas State, he called the big fella from Glass High School and asked him to visit the Wildcats.

"It was all Coach Prince," Anthony Davis said. "I knew Coach Prince real well when he was at Virginia and when I got the call from him after he was hired at Kansas State, I knew I wanted follow him."

Davis was a four-year varsity member and three-year starter for Glass. Davis also started on the offensive line for three years but plans on playing defensive tackle in Manhattan. Davis had 101 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and four sacks this past season.

Davis visited Kansas State last weekend and the Wildcats were the only school to offer him a scholarship but Davis told Scout.com that he doesn't feel slighted at all.

"I feel grateful for the opportunity to play college football at Kansas State." Davis explained. "I'm not worried about who offered and who didn't offer. Kansas State offered and I accepted. I'm a Wildcat now.

"I had a great time on my visit. Kansas State was real cool. I liked the coaches a lot and I got along well with all the guys on the team. I feel that it's a good fit. I'm just going to go in and work hard."

Davis was named 1st team all-region and all-metro as a senior and he was also a 2nd team all-state selection.
