Missouri OL Taking His Time

North High School Star is looking around and weighing his options. Capable of playing either Guard or Tackle, the star Offensive Lineman has the Cats in his top schools and talks about where he is at in the recruiting process.

Jayson Palmgren (6-2, 280) of North High School in Kansas City, (Mo.) is one of the top offensive linemen in the Midwest. He has a solid list of early scholarship offers with a couple of other top programs showing interest.

"I have offers from Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Kansas State, and Arkansas," said Jayson Palmgren. "Nebraska and UCLA are also recruiting me. I don't have any favorites."

Palmgren discusses some of the schools that have already offered.

"I like Iowa because of the tradition," he said.

"I have a friend who plays for Missouri and it would be fun to play with him. They have nice facilities and the coaches are easy to talk to. Missouri likes me as either a center or guard and they are recruiting me the hardest."

"I like the new coach at Kansas State."

"Arkansas has the best facilities I've seen out of the schools I have been to. They like me as a guard."

Palmgren is attractive to college coaches as he shared, "All of the colleges think I'm a great run blocker. I think that I play mean and with a temper."

When it comes time to make a decision, Palmgren knows the factors of his decision.

"I want to go to the place that feels right, offers a good education, and whose coaches I like," he said. "I want to major in Physical Education because I want to be a coach one day."

"I will probably take visits during the season and decide then."

Palmgren reports a 320 bench, 550 squat, and 300 power clean. He carries a 3.1 GPA and is on track to qualify.
