Allen Committed to OU?

One of the top Prospects in the Midwest and more sought after Offensive Tackles in the country has some interesting things to say about his recruitment at this stage.....

Allen Committed to OU?

Offensive tackle Aaron Allen apparently gave a verbal commitment to the Oklahoma coaching staff some time ago with the stipulation that he would still visit other schools.

That is according to Allen himself, who identified himself as a soft verbal commitment for the Sooners.

"I've been verbally committed to OU for a little while now," said Allen. "I couldn't give you an exact date. I knew when I committed that I was still going to look around and maybe visit some other schools.

"I'm a soft verbal at this point, you could say. Technically I'm committed to Oklahoma, but I'm still interested in Colorado State, K-State, Kansas and Nebraska. I haven't sat down and thought about where or when I'm going to take my visits, but our season is over now so it will probably be pretty soon."

The 6-8, 315-pound lineman played on both sides of the ball for Hugoton, KS but is being recruited exclusively as an offensive tackle. Hugoton finished the year a disappointing 2-7.

"My only two offers right now are from OU and K-State but I'm pretty sure I'll get some others pretty soon here. Hopefully that will happen when I'm taking my officials. I've already unofficially visited OU, Colorado State, K-State, Nebraska, Kansas and Colorado, but I'll probably take officials to a few of those anyways."

What is it that Allen likes about Kansas State?

"The biggest thing is that they were the first school to offer," he said. "That still means a lot to me. It shows me that they sort of went out on a limb when nobody else had, and that they really want me there."
