Set to Visit Kansas State

One of the top players from the state of Texas, this 6-foot-4 Lonestar product has slotted a visit to Kansas State and says he is excited to get to the Little Apple.

Guidry Excited About K-State Visit

It may be another week away but defensive end Raphael Guidry is already excited about his official visit to Kansas State.

The 6-4, 230-pound prospect from La Marque, Texas has helped his team to an undefeated regular season and is currently preparing for the state playoffs. On the season he has recorded 50 tackles, two sacks and has batted down two passes.

While he will not identify one school as a clear leader, is it a good sign for the Wildcats that Guidry has not set up any other official visits yet?

"I'd say my leaders are K-State, Baylor, Minnesota and probably Missouri," said Guidry. "They're all pretty even but my visit to K-State in a couple of weeks is the only one I have set up so far. I'll definitely visit the others, so it's not like I'm going to rush into a commitment.

"I'm really excited about that trip coming up. It will be my first official so I can't wait to see what it's like. I've been talking to Coach Prince, Coach Latimore and Coach Jones as often as the NCAA allows. They have a big game against Texas the weekend I'm going to be up there so it should be a lot of fun."

Guidry has offers from all of the schools he is still considering. His position at the next level may be determined by the school he chooses.

"I've heard different things from coaches about where I'll play in college. I really like tight end, but I could play defensive end in college too. I want to talk to these coaches a little bit more about where they think I'll end up, but I don't think that will be a big deal. A lot of guys change positions once they're at college, so I'll just wait and see what happens."
