Offensive tackle Eldridge Sims has been heavily recruited by the K-State coaches and their efforts seem to be paying off.
The 6-6, 270-pound lineman currently at Compton Community College in California will visit Manhattan in the near future.
"I believe their coaches are trying to get him to visit in the near future," said Compton head coach Angelo Jackson. "I'm not sure of the date but they're showing a lot of interest. I don't know what his offer list looks like, but K-State is recruiting him pretty hard.
"They've had coaches come out here to check up on him. In fact, I think their wide receivers coach was out here today."
"Speed-wise he's going to be fine," he said of Sims. "He's an athletic guy for the position he's playing. I think a lot of coaches like his potential because of that. He just needs to hit the weight room and get bigger. He's about 270 pounds right now, so he probably needs to get a little stronger."
When does Sims plan on making his decision?
"All I know is he needs one more class to finish up here," said Jackson. "If he finishes that and does well he should be out of here in December. I think he's shooting for January. That's when he'll enroll at his new school."
