"Man, it went very good," Tysyn Hartman said from Wichita, Kansas. "I met a lot of friends this past summer during camps, and we scheduled our visit together. I had a lot of fun seeing what the college player goes through in a normal every day situation."
The Kapaun Mt. Carmel High School senior visited the campus three or four times this season.
"I already knew pretty much everything," he said. "We have a lot of KU fans at my high school, and they talk bad about the campus all the time, but it wasn't that bad at all. It was great. The KU fans are just jealous I didn't pick KU."
"The coaching staff at K-State just blew me off my feet. They are so young and energetic. Because of their age, they can relate to us like other coaches can't. They were not the first to offer me, but they were the first to show interest in me. Kansas offered first."
The standout athlete earned All-City this season along with First Team All-State and All-Metro as a safety and Second Team All-State as a quarterback.
