One of the top recruits for the Cats that has yet to take his official visit- Colten Freeze is ready to get to Manhattan.
"I'm definitely getting excited about the visit and being up there for school," he said. "With Signing Day coming up and the official visit a week away, it's really starting to feel like it's about that time. I'm solid to K-State and wouldn't want to be going anywhere else."
Freeze said he is now 6-7 and 275 pounds. His frame will allow him to carry a lot more bulk once he regularly hits the weight room in Manhattan. He has a pretty good idea of what his schedule will look like next weekend.
"Coach Morris has been responsible for recruiting me, and he told me what it would look like when he had his in-home visit with me. He said that I would get to meet with the president of the university, then we would go out for lunch. They'll assign a current player to be my host, and I'll go around with him for pretty much the entire trip.
"I know they're going to have me sitting in on some classes to get a feel for the academic side of things. That will be good, because they'll still just be getting started on their new semester. I'm thinking about majoring in graphic design, so maybe I'll get to see something related to that. I'm not positive what I'll study, though."
Freeze committed to K-State early in the recruiting process, but was receiving interest from several other major programs. We'll provide a follow-up report on Freeze and other prospects as they return from their official visits.
