Future Wildcat: Jerrell McDaniel

Jerrell McDaniel, from East Saint Lewis, (Ill.), signed with Kansas State on signing day. The 6-1, 185-pound Scout.com two-star wideout talked about his senior season and why he chose the Wildcats.

"The way they treated me on my visit is why I choose K-State," the soft-spoken Jerrell McDaniels said. "I really liked the campus when I went up there. They took me to a classroom when I went up there on my visit, and it was really nice."

McDaniel recorded 36 receptions for 913 yards as a receiver. He scored 20 total touchdowns. McDaniel recorded 75 tackles, 41 solo, 11 sacks and six interceptions on defense.

"I am fast. I run a 4.35," McDaniel said of his time in the 40-yard dash.

"I will redshirt my first year. I think I will be playing wide receiver, not defense," he said.

McDaniel was a First-Team All-State selection in Illinois and was named the St. Louis All-Metro Player of the Year for his performance at East Saint Lewis High School.
