When former coach Bob Huggins elected to leave Kansas State, many were shocked, but none more so then perhaps Dominque Sutton and the other KSU Signees that Huggins signed to letters of intent. With the resignation of Bob Huggins, many are left to wonder about the current class and recruiting efforts.
One recruit in particular says it may not be important who the Cats hire, but more importantly who they retain. KStateFans.com spoke with Dominque Sutton thrusday evening after the announcement and this is what he had to say about the coaching change and his thoughts about Kansas State.
"If Coach (Dalonte) Hill wasn't there, I would have never thought about K-State. I never even heard of K-State basketball, never, before Coach Hill went there."
"I was upset when I first heard it. But I figured he'd take the job since he's from there. I can't be mad though, I guess, because it was a business thing."
"There's a chance I could still be there, but only if Dalonte Hill is an assistant coach or the head coach. Other than that, I'm out."
"I would tell him to look into who brought in the most people in this recruiting class and that's Coach Hill. He got three of the five, one that's the top player over everybody in the country. Each year he could do that. We could just get better and better every year with Coach Hill."
"If Coach Hill is there, I'm still a Wildcat. If not, I'm gone."
