Cats on the Short List

When you talk about the top high school defenses in the state of Texas, one of the first teams to come to mind has to be Skyline HS. With 3 defensive players holding division 1 offers from BCS schools, they form one of those most formidable and stingy defenses you'll find. One of those players is LB Spencer Reeves, who previously had K-State in his top 3. Are the Cats still there?

Spencer Reeves, the 6'2, 205 pound outside linebacker out of Skyline HS, has had to fight for attention. He has received scholarship offers from the likes of LSU, Texas Tech, Arkansas, and Kansas State, but there are several other division 1 prospects on his team.

Skyline High School is absolutely loaded with defensive talent. Guys like Alfred Dupree, a current Oklahoma State commit, and 4 star safety Keanon Cooper all combine to make one of the fiercest defenses in the state of Texas.

"I would like to play with one of my teammates. We have 5 guys with division 1 scholarships on our team, and it's highly likely I'll end up going to the same place as one of them. It would make the situation more comfortable if I was with a former teammate."

When we first spoke with Reeves, he had planned to make a decision fairly quickly, but it appears that has now changed.

"At first I was going to try and make my decision before school starts, but it's been really hard. I think I'm going to take all 5 of my official visits now and make a decision close to signing day."

So what 5 schools are likely to receive a visit from the 3 star prospect?

"It will probably be LSU, Minnesota, K-State, Texas Tech, and Colorado. Colorado has been coming after me pretty hard as of late. Out of the schools that have offered me, Texas Tech, Kansas State, and Minnesota are my top 3. Unless other schools jump into the mix, I will make my decision out of those 3."
