Aldon Smith, a 6-foot-5, 235-pound DE from Raytown (MO), hustled three Big 12 North programs ("Missouri, Kansas State, Nebraska") for a full-ride but he might not be done hustling yet. "Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Kansas, Georgia, and some others might be offering me," Smith told Scout.com. "I think I have the talent to compete on any of the teams recruiting me. I've gotten a lot better since last year."
Kid's got confidence and a work ethic and that goes a long way on the gridiron. But perhaps the three schools in the best position to gain a commitment from the Missouri Mauler are the three whom have offered. After all, Smith told Scout.com: "My top three schools, right now, are Missouri, K-State and Nebraska."
Thoughts on His Top Three Schools...
On Tigers: "I like the coaches, the program, the facilities are nice and it's just a couple of hours away from home."
On Wildcats: "I like the coaches at K-State too, their facilities are alright, and I know some players there. And they're close to home, about four hours away."
On Huskers: "I haven't been up there yet. Actually, I'll be seeing them real soon. I'm tripping to Lincoln in August and I'll be able to learn more about them then."
Let's the meet the coaches tasked with the responsibility of wooing the 6-5/235-pound pass rusher from Raymore...
"(Mizzou) Andy Hill, (K-State) Matt Wallerstadt, (Nebraska) Kevin Cosgrove."
Commitment Time Frame: "Well, by the end of this summer, I will have already been by and seen the schools that have offered. So, I could commit before the season. But it would be nice to take an official visit, or two."
Weight Room Numbers: "285 Bench, 245 Incline, 325 Squat, 250 Power Clean."
Academics: "2.8 GPA, 18 on my first ACT attempt."
