Midwest CB Talks Top Four

We caught up with Midwest City (OK) CB John Flanders to talk a little shop. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound defensive back (who clocks forty times in the 4.4-range) has five official scholarship offers but could add a few more to his total before it's all said and done. We talk about those officially offering, thoughts on his Top Four schools, coaches recruiting him, and lots more

John Flanders, who hails from Midwest City (OK), brings decent (5-10/170-pound) height/weight and excellent (4.4-forty) speed to the secondary as a cornerback prospect. Case in point, the Midwest City high school CB already has five official full-rides on the table, plus another school keeping in touch on regular basis who could soon join his list of suitors...

"I have scholarship offers from Tulsa, Kansas State, Tulsa, New Mexico and Rice and Texas Tech," Flanders told KStateFans.com before adding, "Oklahoma State is recruiting me harder than any other school who has yet to offer. So they could decide later to offer as well."

I asked John which school was recruiting him the hardest and the speedy cornerback was quick to reply.

"Tulsa and Kansas Sate" are the two pursuing more than any others out of the schools whom tendered Flanders a full-ride...

Top Four Schools: "Oklahoma State, Tulsa, Texas Tech, Kansas State."

Thoughts on Four Faves...

On the Cowboys: "I like where there program is at and where it's going to be. And I like the facilities, the upgrades they've made and the team."

On the Golden Hurricanes: "It's an academic school, a private school where I think I can get a quality education. I like their program and I like the plans they have to add to their stadium."

On the Red Raiders: "I like the style of their play. They pass the ball a lot. So their DBs get a lot of work in practice (covering the wide receivers)."

On the Wildcats: "I like their coaches. and I like their program. And that their competitive enough to win the Big North."

Commitment Time Frame: "I think I'm going to take all of my official visits."

Schools slotted to earn one of his five official visit slots?

Official Visit Agenda: "I'd have to say my top four would probably definitely get an official visit: OSU, Tulsa, Texas Tech and K-State. And for my fifth-and-final visit it's probably between Missouri and New Mexico right now."

Summer Camp Agenda: "Arkansas is the only camp I went to."

JR Season Stat Package: "47-50 tackles, 1 INT, 15 PBUs, 25-30-yard kick off return average."

Track-And-Field Exploits: "400 meter time: 47.9; 100 meter time 10.5."
