We caught up with Basehor-Linwood tight end/offensive tackle/defensive end prospect Jacob Schlerbaum who goes about 6-foot-7, 230 pounds and clocks forty times in the 5.0/5.1-range. Kid's an intriguing prospect to say the least. He plays both defensive end and offensive tackle for his high school. He talks scholarship offers, schools recruiting him the most, stat packages, and more below.
Checking in at 6-foot-7, 230 pounds Basehor-Linwood senior-to-be Jacob Schlerbaum
is being recruited "mostly as a tight end and offensive tackle" prospect but also projects as a defensive end as well. Fracturing a knee cap "after basketball season my junior year" slowed his recruitment a bit but he's beginning to pick up a little steam now. He was actually cleared to return to action before the start of August 2-a-days, where he said he not only participated in the grueling summer heat workouts but did so in full pads (and with the confidence that he has fully bounced back from the injury).
Currently without a scholarship offer in his possession he is still being recruited heavily by several programs...
"Right now I would say that the teams recruiting me the hardest and that have come by and seen me in the spring were Kansas State, Kansas and Illinois," Schlerbaum told KStateFans.com. "And I've also been receiving a lot of interest from Tulsa, Eastern Illinois, Missouri, Missouri State, and Pitt State."
