(FREE) Cali QB Darius Banks Digs KSU

Josh Freeman-bad ass that he is-commanding the offensive attack has KSU OC James Franklin simply rolling with the flow when it comes to worrying about the future of the Cats' offense at QB, right? Nope. KStateFans.com features yet another field general on the K-State Take Board Franklin and Co. are diligently pursuing: Culver City (CA) QB Darius Banks. Got 411 on the Cali Kid with 5 offers? We do!

Culver City QB Darius Banks that checks in at 6-foot-2, 186 pounds, clocking forty times in the 4.69-range, has five official scholarship offers in the bag already. And, more could be on the way.

"I have offers from Kansas State, Oregon, Toledo, San Jose State and UNLV (who offered after looking at my highlight tape)," Darius Banks told KStateFans.com.

"When I take the SAT this Saturday, and I think I'm going to do very well on it, I could have a few more offers to consider," Banks continued. "Fresno State calls me every week and Mike Stoops (Arizona head man) told me he wanted to offer me when he came to my school not too long ago, but said I needed to get qualified."

Two schools (KSU and FSU) called the quarterback the first day of September, when coaches were allowed to begin recruiting via phone once a week, and low and behold those are Banks' Top Two Programs…

"I like K-State and Fresno State," Banks sharing pertinent recruiting information said. "And, so, I'd have to say that at this point in the process it's K-State and Fresno State in the lead (for my verbal commitment)."

Official Visit Agenda: "I'm definitely giving K-State and Fresno State an official visit. And, I'm pretty sure I'm going to eventually visit Arizona too, and maybe Oregon. It really depends on who else emerges."

Commitment Time Frame: "I know I want to take all five of my official visits. And, I know of two I'll visit for sure and that's K-State and Fresno State. It really depends on which schools get my last three official visit slots. But I'm pretty sure I will take all five. And, then I will make my commitment decision."

Thoughts on his Top Two…

On K-State: "I like the offense they run and that they're an up-and-coming program. And, I like how they've been doing pretty good under Coach Ron Prince the last couple of years. They're recruiting me as a quarterback. They've been talking to me a lot recently. At first, I wasn't even looking at them. I was more interested in Oregon (who I initially committed to early in the process but realized I had made a mistake, committing too early, and don't think they're really that fond of me right now – probably because I decommitted). But anyway, right now, I really like K-State, and I'm very interested in them."

On Fresno State: "They're actually recruiting me the hardest right now even though they haven't offered yet. But I know that they want me. They're just waiting for me to get qualified. And, they call me every week. But I like how they're usually one of the top programs in the country. They play anybody. And, because of that, they're contenders every year. And, they're not that far away."

JR Season Stats: "4,115 yards passing, 51 TDs, 11 INTs, 200 yards rushing, 3 rushing TDs."

SR Season Stats: "(In just four games) we're 4-0 right now. And, I have 1,000-something passing yards, 11 passing TDs, 4 INTs (three on tipped/dropped passes from my receivers, so I'd love to have those back), 200 yards rushing and 3 rushing TDs."

Other Numbers/Notes to Consider…

Weight Room Numbers: "225 Bench, 250 Squat, 215 Power Clean."

Academics:: "My GPA will be a 2.5 or higher after this semester. I'm taking five core classes and I am doing very well in all five classes. So, I know I'm going to be close to a 2.5 if not higher. And, then I'm taking the SAT this Saturday. I've been tutoring for the test and I've got a couple more sessions this week before I take the test. So I think I'm going to do really good. I'm aiming to get a 1000. So, we'll see how close I get to meeting that soon."

We've got even more information on the Cali QB coming soon in either another regular recruiting update, or in a Wildcat Nation Members Only report. So stay tuned!
