(FREE) Antonio Felder Names A New No. 1

Ballyhooed Butler DE Antonio Felder supplied KStateFans breaking news a couple of weeks ago, naming Troy No. 1. Mulling his options and sorting out for himself whether he wanted to return to Butler next season or go D-1 this spring, Felder's come to a couple of conclusions. Making headlines here again, the 6-3, 245 OLB chunks us a New No. 1 and why he has his New No. 1 ahead of the pack, And More!

Antonio Felder, who said he has clocked forty times in the high-4.4 range, can fly. That might be one reason the 6-3, 245 pound-edge rusher is arguably the No. 1 Strong Side LB Target on the Kansas State Take Board. With several positions needing filled in the front seven for Tim Tibesar's 3-4 D to purr, make no mistake they're addressing the front seven by pursuing the kind of prospects capable of coming in and making their mark in turning their defense around as quick as possible, maybe even as fast as next season.

No question about it, Felder is circled with a permanent purple marker as one of the pieces needed to take the Cats' Defense to another level. But does he have the Wildcat alumni, coaches and fans hopeful he'll be one of those key additions in 2008?

You Betcha…

"Right now, I've got K-State No.1," the Butler DE told KStateFans.com. "Yes, I did have Troy No. 1 but that was before I began learning more about K-State. And, I like the chance I have with them to play in the Big 12 against Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado and so many other good programs. Plus I like the position they have in mind for me -- strong side linebacker."

"They need a lot of help right now," Felder elaborating on what it is about K-State that has them sitting atop his leader board today. "And, I think I can go in there and help them. I think I have great opportunity to make an early impact there."

Felder, contemplating making a return to Butler next season, is now strongly leaning toward going D-I instead, where he will have 4 years to play 3. Not to mention a spring and summer to get Tibesar's system down before August Training Camp starts, just nine months away, should he elect to give the Purple his verbal pledge.

"I've been talking to Coach Tibesar every week and I like him," Felder sharing pertinent information said. "He's pretty cool and I like the idea of playing in a scheme that gets after the quarterback.

Official Visit Agenda: "I‘m supposed to take an official visit to K-State January 18. But I might bump it up."

True Freshman Season Stats: "32 tackles, 5 sacks, 50 pressures, 2-3 QB knockdowns, 5-10 tipped passes, 1 FR."

Other Numbers/Notes to Consider…

Weight Room Numbers: "Bench: 225 x 19 reps, Squat: 480, Power Clean: 315."

Injury/Recovery Status: "I should be back and ready to go by the spring. My rehab is going very well. And, it would not hurt to go D-I and work with the trainers there. Although I‘m on schedule to be ready to go by March, 100 percent by Spring."
