"It was all about coach Prince."

Dustin Bell, Scout.com three-star cornerback from Bakersfield, (Calif.), is one of four players from the same junior college to sign their letter of intent with Kansas State. Bell hopes to contribute immediately in the secondary as he talks about his future in Manhattan.

"It was all about coach [Ron] Prince," Dustin Bell said when asked why he signed with Kansas State. "He is just the coolest coach. He reminds me of my high school coach. He was a big influence on my decision."

"Coach Burns was in charge of my recruitment until he left. I then starting talking to coach [Tim] Tibesar. He was cool. I would have liked to play for coach Burns, but coach Tibesar fell right in and filled his spot."

The 6-foot, 178-pound defensive back was recruited to play cornerback for the Wildcats. He plans to enroll in May and hopes to make a big impact.

"I expect to start next year," Bell said. "I am going in with the mind-set I am going to start and help make the team better. They coaches told me they want me to come in ready to play. They want me to learn a lot in the secondary."

When asked his thoughts of the KState recruiting class Bell replied, "It's loaded with junior college players, and four of us are coming from Bakersfield. Hopefully everyone is going to bring the same type of winning attitude that we are going to bring."

Bell intercepted seven passes with 18 break-ups and 53 tackles from his defensive back position in 2007. He also played wide receiver and scored touchdowns passing, receiving and returning an interception.

Bell helped lead Bakersfield to a No.1 national ranking, a 12-1 record and a berth in the Southern California championship game.

"I feel like my strengths are knowing where I am suppose to be," he said. "I know every position on the field and help make my teammates better. This is only my second year playing cornerback. I played offense throughout high school. I just need to learn the position better."
