"I plan to enroll in January," said William Cooper. "I was offered as a grayshirt. The coaches told me this will help me and develop me more as a player. I am all for it. It will give me a chance to get a lot bigger and stronger."
"The coaches recruited me to play offensive tackle. I am 6-foot-5, 254-pounds. I am lifting weights every day and trying to get bigger. They have told me for me to be successful I need to get to about 285-pounds."
"I actually tried to commit a little earlier in the year, but they were a little shaky about it. I decided to wait. Missouri nor Kansas came through with an offer, but I started to like KState more. The KState offer finally came available, and I took it."
"Coach [Mo] Latimore was my recruiting coach. He is a great guy. He is down to earth. He tells you how it is. Coach [Ron] Prince is awesome. He is a great coach. I can't wait to start playing for him."
"I have been up to KState twice. I went when I was a junior, and I went this past January. The facilities are great. It wasn't a real big campus. Everything is right there for you. That's what I really like about it."
Cooper was named to the Missouri Football Coaches Association All-State first team in Class 1, first team All-Region selection along the offensive line and first team SEMO South All-Conference.
When asked about strengths and what he hopes to improve Cooper replied, "I would say my biggest strength is my pass blocking. I still have to work hard on the run. I know the KState coaches will get me to the point where I need to be."
"I want to get a good education and become the best football player I can be. That's really all you can hope for. I think we have a real good class. I haven't got a chance to really meet them yet."
"I am all for it."
