Cats Sign Big Man to Letter of Intent

Reporter Frank Mantesta has the recruiting story on Jordan Henriquez ...

Jordan Henriquez, a 6-foot-10 center from Port Chester High School in Port Chester, New York, has signed a letter of intent with Kansas State a few days ago.

However, there is academic work to be done for Henriquez as many schools recruiting him were hoping he spend a year on the prep level to polish up his court skills and improve his academic situation.

Henriquez signed the letter of intent on Thursday with Kansas State. Coach Frank Martin came late and hard. Recent weeks had Jordan checking on prep schools.

But Martin saw a lot of potential in the big man with long arms. The shot blocking center signed with Kansas State in the hope that he qualifies academically.

He is a tremendous shot blocker and rebounder. Jordan is a big man who can run on the break too. He has a nice back to the basket game but does need to improve on his footwork.

Jordan's high school coach Derek Vincent told us: "Jordan is waiting on a SAT score and also his overall grades. Jordan has worked hard in the classroom to improve on that and now hopefully he will reap the benefit."
