Conference Call for Fans See Huge Turnout

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Wildcat Nation proved once again its loyalty and support as over 3,000 K-State season ticket holders, supporters and fans participated in a Fan Forum Conference Call Thursday that is believed to be the largest of its kind ever among Big 12 institutions.

The call, moderated by the Voice of the Wildcats Wyatt Thompson, provided members of the K-State Family the opportunity to hear Athletics Director John Currie's vision about K-State Athletics and the upcoming season as well as ask the new athletics director questions.

"I continue to be so impressed with the passion of all K-State fans and today was a prime example of that," Currie said. "We want to continue to be open in our communication with the Wildcat Nation and solicit the input of fans as we strive to be a model intercollegiate athletics program."

A full audio replay of the call will be available online Friday at www.k-statesports.com, while questions that were submitted during the call but were not addressed by Currie will be answered and displayed in an upcoming "Tell John" column online. Fans are also encouraged to continue submitting their comments, concerns and questions to Currie via the "Tell John" feature online.

The K-State Family Reunion is just over four weeks away as head coach Bill Snyder and the Wildcats host UMass in the 2009 season opener on September 5.

Both season and single-game tickets for the 2009 football season remain available to the general public, including individual reserved tickets for as low as $20 for the UMass game. The most convenient way to order is online at www.k-statesports.com. Tickets may also be purchased in person at the K-State Athletic Ticket Office in Bramlage Coliseum or by calling, 1-800-221-CATS.
