K-State Head Coach Bill Snyder Quotes

Following the loss in Louisiana, Kansas State Head Coach Bill Snyder spoke about the game.

On the game...

"I was proud of the fact that we came back and played better in the second half. I wasn't unhappy about our effort. Defense gave up only three points in the second half. We understand what our limitations are, but I was pleased with how we didn't give up in the second half. This team's destiny is in our hands out there. I told them that I wasn't the coach they needed out there on the sideline. I didn't get accomplished what I wanted to in terms of their preparation this week."

On the quarterbacks...

"As you can see we struggled and we've got to have someone step up and make plays for us. We had some inconsistencies there. There's one thing I do know is that they both give all of their effort in practice and in film study."

On Louisiana's performance...

"I don't think they didn't do anything that we didn't anticipate. They're a fine football team and I said that at the beginning of the week. And I'm not just saying that because it's the right thing to say, I'm saying it because it's the truth. I think Rickey (Bustle) does an amazing job with this team as does his coaching staff. You watch those wide receivers and they're down there throwing blocks every single snap and those linemen are down at your ankles every snap. They're just a well-coached football team. They didn't do anything that I can put my finger on that they hadn't done."

On the improved play of the offense...

"We have to improve our consistency on offense, but we've got to get better at all of it. We played reasonably well on defense but still have so many things we need to correct. We need to have a better balance in what we're doing in that respect. Some young guys have to step up and grow up very quickly.

I continue to think it wasn't disheartening. It's kind of a long-haul kind of thing. What you have to look at here is, are we making progress and are we getting better? But ,yes, it's probably disheartening to a lot of people. I want our guys to be disappointed."
