Brown Gains Regional Attention

Austin (TX) Johnson forward Marshall Brown turned in a fine junior season. It was a season in which three big time schools made trips to come see him.

Marshall Brown, a junior small forward at Austin (TX) Johnson, averaged 24 points and 7 rebounds a game as a junior. "It was a good year," Brown said. "We went 25-5. I wish we could have went further in playoffs but sometimes it happens. We lost on a last second shot."

The 2002 adidas ABCD camper is being recruited at the small forward position and he's received plenty of attention from Big 12 programs. In fact, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas went to see him play. He likes Kansas as well but the Jayhawks didn't see him this year and haven't offered.

To date, Texas and Missouri have offered, according to Brown. He's been on just one campus and it was Texas, the hometown school.

"The top two are Missouri and Texas," Brown said on Tuesday.

The Austin resident played it cool when asked who he thought would win the NCAA Tournament. "I haven't even filled out my bracket yet. It's going to be a tough one."

Brown said that he'll play this summer with John Eurey's Houston SuperStars program. Top Stories
