Anderson focusing on three

It would probably be easier to list the big-time schools who haven't shown some level of interest in Braeden Anderson in recent months than to do the same for those who have – but the three-star big man from Wilbraham (MA) and Monson Academy has narrowed his list down to a final few.

Arizona, Kansas and Kentucky are now his "big three," he noted, with a fourth still receiving some consideration.

"Mississippi State came to my home in Canada, so that's a pretty bold statement," Anderson said. "It's pretty far away. My parents are pretty impressed with that, so I'm softly considering that."

With the NCAA Tournament entering its final weekend and only one of his top contenders – Kentucky – still playing ball, he hopes to begin the process of scheduling additional official visits. Anderson already officially visited Lawrence, Kan. in early March and gave the trip high marks, describing it as "kind of overwhelming."

"The experience I had over there was just absolutely ridiculous," he said. "I can't forget it, as much as other people try to swing me in different directions. I can't stop bringing them up."

For Kentucky, assistant coach Kenny Payne has been Anderson's lead recruiter, and now it appears to be just a matter of getting Head Coach John Calipari involved before an offer can be finalized.

"Coach Kenny Payne has made it clear he wants me to be a part of the program and he's been doing a good job recruiting me," he said. "But it's waiting for the tournament to be done so Coach Calipari can be involved with the process."

While taking all three official visits is the plan, Anderson clarified that it's not one carved into stone.

More importantly, he wants to make sure he's making the right decision.

"Part of the whole thing ism y parents and my uncle and everybody around me really wants to make sure that I take my time this time, and make sure that I'm not rushing it," the former DePaul commit explained. "I think I've already done a good job of holding out and thinking. I feel like as soon as I know, I'll be ready to let the world know." Top Stories
